Josh's Testimony Hi, my name is Josh and I am 20 years old. I was born in Victoria, B.C. I was adopted as a baby into a beautiful Christian family. I was raised as a Christian but acted the opposite. I developed a desire for money and material things at a young age. I went from a happy young boy selling golf balls on a golf course to a destructive teenager selling weed at high school in a very short time. Supplying narcotics lead to heavy usage of my own stash. It led to an addiction I was blind of. This life of misery and destruction continued for 4 years. I got to a point of near death and called out to the Lord for help. I couldn’t hold a job, and all my “so called” friends had left me. All that was left was all I needed; the Lord and my family. My sister told me about Teen Challenge and I submitted myself to be a part of this program. I have been in Teen Challenge for 4 months now and the change in my life is phenomenal. The Lord has destroyed my thoughts for evil and replaced them with thoughts of life and grace. The Lord has planted my feet upon the Rock of Righteousness. Now that I have seen the light, I will never fall back into the dark. I thank the Lord for what He has done. Psalm 118:5 |

Jason's Testimony My name is Jason and I am 26 years old. I was born in New Westminster but my mom and dad separated when I was young and we moved to Edmonton, AB. My mom and dad reconciled and my dad joined us there. I first met Jesus when I was 10 going to Sunday school. My parents did not have a relationship with Jesus nor did they attend church regularly. I am thankful today that they sent my brother and me. Because of the unstable foundation at home, the enemy was able to methodically attack my family until we were eventually torn apart. During those years my mom was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and my dad became a violent alcoholic. Everything around me was crumbling and all those that were supposed to love me were gone. I ended up in foster care and lived as a youth in care until I was 19. I joined the army and got involved in alcohol and became violent myself. I progressed into drugs and struggled with immorality in relationships. I could not take it anymore and moved back to B.C. four years ago. I struggled more and finally decided to get help. Today I have a relationship with Jesus and through Teen Challenge I am learning all about His character. I am becoming the man that He intended me to be. Romans 12:2

Tri's Testimony Hi my name is Tri. My family and I escaped Vietnam and came to Canada. I came from a good loving family of eight. Growing up in Victoria, B.C., I struggled in my teenage years. It was hard for me to fit in because of my racial background. Kids were so mean and prejudice towards me. I would get beat up at school. I had no one to turn to or any role model of any sort, so I always had to learn how to stand up on my own. This carried on until high school. I then dropped out of school and started to hang out with a gang. I would do anything I could to feel accepted and belong. I felt invincible because I had a new family to back me up in all I would do. I started selling guns and drugs making money and partying hard every day. I started losing a lot of friends due to gang violence. I fell into a big depression and started using heroin and cocaine. The addiction began to take control over my life. I felt suicidal and I didn’t know how else to get out. Today I am very happy to be at Teen Challenge. God is good, I am able to smile and have so many things to thank Him for. I am able to learn how to feel, laugh, and cry tears of joy. I am not numb from the drugs anymore. God has freed me from 15 years of my drug addiction. I see hope in my life to have a better future. I am very thankful for all the people that support this ministry to make it possible for me to get my life back. One of my favorite Verses is Philippians 4:13, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” |
