A Taste of Heaven in 2007…

I know that may sound a bit corny, but this is exactly what we are believing for at BC Teen Challenge in 2007. When we look back at 2006, we are THANK-FULL. When we look forward to 2007, we are HOPE-FULL -- we are so FULL of thanks and therefore are FULL of hope for the New Year.

Our Yarrow Center Program Director, Darrell, summed up what we are anticipating the Lord will do in 2007. Darrell said,

“The worst of the worst will become the best of the best.”

This is why Teen Challenge exists. We are called to reach the lowest of the low, introduce them to the Highest of the High – Jesus Christ, and then watch the Master transform our students one by one. Jesus says,

“I will put my laws in their minds

And write them on their hearts.

I will be their God,

And they will be my people…

For I will forgive their wickedness

And will remember their sins no more.”

At Teen Challenge we are  amazed year after year how consistently we see the lives of our students from the most desperate of situations transformed, reborn and miraculously made new.  We are humbled to participate in what God is doing to cause the Gospel to come alive through so many men and women right here in B.C.

I am asking you to stand with us throughout 2007. At BC Teen Challenge our highest common denominator among students, staff, board members, volunteers and supporters is our newest student. We love our students and our grads. On January 26 we will graduate our 60th and 61st students.

Please give generously this month. Historically, January is our lowest giving month. We need your help.

A taste of Heaven’s economy brought down to earth are the “Divine Paradoxes” God sets forth. Simply stated these paradoxes are opposite of what we would naturally expect. So, to start this year off with a little taste of heaven, let’s give so January can be our largest income month. We look forward to partnering with you in 2007. This is going to be a Great Year!
